Each year we choose entertainers to compete at all our events and give them exposure through our company for a duration of 1 year.
Talent Search
Each year we choose 1 to 2 performers/ entertainers/ groups to perform at all our shows and events for a duration of 1 year, we also give these artists/performers exposure through our company.
Why we run this competition annually
- To give performers the opportunity to build up a profound portfolio
- To give performers a “foot in the door” in the entertainment industry
- To give performers exposure to be seen by prospective CD labels and well known managers around the world
The finals will take place in 2 parts,
- A quick few questions on stage before you start
- Your performance (performance max = 2min)
Personalities we are looking for:
- performers who are easy to work with, professional and respectful
- performers who are passionate about what they do and make themselves available
- performers who have ambition and drive, who make an effort to show that they want to succeed
- Dynamic, Lively performers who are Reliable
Competition Divisions:
- Singers (individual and group)
- Individual Dance
- Group Dance
Individual division winners will receive prizes, but only ONE overall winner will be chosen and receive the grand prize of working with our company and performing at all our events for a duration of 1 year
Requirements
Singers will be judged on the following:
- Vocal Skills:Includes pitch, breath control, dynamics, phrasing, enunciation and tone
- Presentation Skills: Includes eye contact, body expression, facial expression, attire, and microphone technique
- Audience Response to Performance: Based on judge’s observation
- Judge’s Overall Impression of your Performance: At discretion of judges
- Choice of Material:Singer chose proper song to showcase their abilities
- ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR!!
Individual:
Each Dancer will perform a dance number with a time limit of 3 minutes. The use of pyrotechnic gadgets, a smoke or combustible material as props is not allowed.
The criteria for judging are the following:
- Choreography
- Execution
- ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR!!
- Skills
- Creativity
- Attitude
Group dancers will be judged on the following:
Each Group will perform a dance number with a time limit of 3 minutes. The members of the groups may be composed of all males or females, or any combination thereof.
The use of pyrotechnic gadgets, a smoke or combustible material as props is not allowed.
The criteria for judging are the following:
- Choreography (Creativity, Artistry, Style & Originality)
- Execution (Timing & Coordination, Projection & Expression) ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR!!
- Skills
- Creativity
- Attitude
Prizes for Divisions Include:
- Trophies for top 3 performers in each division
- Photos of all winners will be posted on our website along with a short biography
- All division winners will be added to our artist data basis
Overall Grand Prize Winner:
- 1st Place – R5 000 cash divided into performances throughout the year
- Winners will receive a full Professional Portfolio Photo Shoot with Magazine Photographer, Soulby Jackson
- Videos of performer will be made and placed on youtube as well as all our company’s social networks, website, etc
- Grand prize winners will be performing at all our shows and events for a duration of 1 year
- Automatic entry into the 2019 Talent Search Competition for the Arnold Classic Africa
- Other prizes may be added
1. COMPETITION RULES, T&C'S
- Judges decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- No entry will be accepted without a complete entry form and full payment.
- Prizes are as advertised, and are not exchangeable for cash.
- Competition entries close 22 March 2019; no late entries will be accepted.
- The competition is open to all men and ladies of any age (under 18s have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian), South Africa based residents.
- If winners cannot fulfil their roles, the runners up will be promoted as the winners. Fulfilment is deemed as being able to attend necessary photo shoots, and performing at Xtyle Fitness and Entertainment Events
- Xtyle Entertainment reserves the right to change or substitute any of the prizes due to sponsors withdrawing from the competition. Prizes may also be added if extra sponsors are acquired.
- Winners from previous years may not enter for a period of 1 year
- The winner must be able to provide positive identification to certify his or her age.
- Should the candidate be unable for any reason to enter into a contract with Xtyle Fitness and Entertainment, Xtyle Fitness and Entertainment will not promote him or her under any winning title and Xtyle Fitness and Entertainment reserves the right to select a new winner. Terms and conditions laid out in the contract are at the discretion of Xtyle Entertainment
- Performers entering the competition may not be under management of any person or entity who will get in the way of Xtyle Fitness and Entertainment arranging performances or events for them
- All entrants must be available to attend the finals on the 23rd of March 2019 in Gauteng
- The photo shoot for the winners will be done by well known magazine photographer, Soulby Jackson.
